Salary: £80,000 gross per annum (dependant on skills, experience and previous earnings)

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Governess or qualified Teacher to join a warm, welcoming family based in Lisbon, Portugal.
You will support the education and development of a delightful five-year-old girl. The role is centred around home-schooling and creating a rich, engaging learning environment tailored to her individual needs and learning style.
The family is seeking someone with either a PGCE or a strong background in teaching primary-aged children. You will be responsible for delivering a bespoke curriculum across all core subjects, while also fostering creativity, emotional wellbeing, and independent thinking. The family is open to non-traditional approaches to learning, including project-based work, experiential education, and nature-led discovery. You will have the freedom to plan lessons and activities that are thoughtful, stimulating, and child-centred.
The little girl is imaginative, full of energy, and naturally curious about the world. She thrives with gentle guidance, creative input, and opportunities to explore. You should be kind, nurturing, confident, and educationally driven, with a calm and engaging presence. A love of learning and the ability to balance structured teaching with play-based exploration will be key to success in this role.
In addition to the educational element you will be involved in aspects of the child’s daily routine, including supporting her general wellbeing, preparing engaging activities, and helping manage her weekly schedule. The family occasionally travels and would love someone happy to accompany them when needed, with all expenses covered. A car is provided for work-related use, and visa sponsorship is available for UK-based or international candidates requiring relocation support.
