A thoughtful and experienced Home School Teacher is sought to support a 7-year-old boy based in Cascais. This is a highly personalised role, centred around delivering a British curriculum framework in a way that feels engaging, flexible, and tailored to the child’s individual interests.
Rather than focusing on formal testing or exam preparation, the emphasis is on nurturing curiosity, encouraging independent thinking, and creating a positive relationship with learning. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for planning and delivering a structured yet adaptable programme that supports both academic progress and broader development.
The day will typically be split between more focused academic learning in the mornings, and a looser, more exploratory approach in the afternoons – this may include project-based work, outdoor learning, or activities that encourage creativity and initiative.
You will:
- Plan and deliver a well-structured, individualised programme in line with the British curriculum
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the child’s pace, interests, and learning style
- Foster a calm, engaging, and encouraging learning environment
- Balance clear structure with a warm, child-led approach
This role would suit someone who:
- Holds a recognised teaching qualification and has strong knowledge of the British primary curriculum
- Is confident working in a one-to-one setting and can take initiative with planning
- Brings a creative and thoughtful approach to learning
- Is able to establish clear boundaries while remaining warm and supportive
