Role: Part-time Evening Cook / Household Assistant
Days: Monday–Thursday (flexibility for either Friday or Saturday hours, to suit candidate)
Hours: Approx. 20 hours per week (typically 4pm–8:30pm or 5pm-9pm)
Location: Holland Park, London
Salary: £25 net per hour
Contract: Permanent
Start: End of April 2026
A warm and busy family household in Holland Park are seeking a proactive and personable Evening Cook (with light Household Assistance) to support Monday to Thursday, with flexibility for additional hours on Friday or Saturday if desired
The family have two children (aged 5 and 16) who are supported by other staff. This informal, family-style role focuses on preparing healthy, nutritious meals alongside light household duties and occasional childcare support during the evening routine
The ideal candidate will be a confident home or private household cook with a passion for healthy, family-style meals, who is organised, proactive and able to work independently. Warm, flexible and hands-on, they will integrate well within an existing team; Italian, Spanish or Portuguese language skills are desirable but not essential
The family travel extensively during school holidays, offering quieter periods when annual leave can be taken, balanced by flexibility when in residence
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing simple, healthy and delicious family-style meals (Mediterranean-style, protein-led, balanced meals)
- Cooking for children ensuring flexibility and variety
- Kitchen management including cleaning down, maintaining organisation and leaving the kitchen spotless
- Light household assistance such as occasional ironing, helping prepare for the following day and placing online grocery orders
- Supporting with the younger child when required and being comfortable in a family environment
- Occasional light babysitting (1 evening per week, typically until 11pm)
