A returning UHNW family are seeking a full-time Private Chef to be primarily based at their residence in Comporta (Portugal), with flexibility to support the household in London and with some international travel
This is a fantastic opportunity for a calm, adaptable and highly capable Chef who enjoys working within a relaxed but high-standard private household environment. The family value a “home-style”, produce-led approach to cooking, with an emphasis on clean, simple, delicious food prepared to an exceptional standard
The role will be predominantly Portugal-based, particularly during the summer months where the Chef will be required to work a continuous period across July and August, catering for the family and frequent visiting guests. Outside of peak season, the role will involve regular long weekends in Portugal, with additional support required in London and occasional international travel
The Chef will be responsible for planning and preparing daily meals for a family of four, alongside catering for informal entertaining and larger gatherings during busy periods. The family enjoy a variety of cuisines, with particular appreciation for Mediterranean, in addition to global influences such as Indian and Mexican, and a preference for fresh, seasonal ingredients and well-balanced, flavourful dishes. Flexibility and responsiveness to individual preferences and last-minute changes are essential
Working alongside a Sous Chef in Portugal, the successful candidate will take overall responsibility for kitchen organisation, menu planning, sourcing high-quality produce and maintaining excellent hygiene and presentation standards at all times. The ability to work collaboratively, communicate clearly and lead calmly within the kitchen environment is key
The ideal candidate will have proven UHNW private household experience, be organised, discreet and service-driven, with a calm, adaptable and down-to-earth approach. Able to manage multiple guests and changing schedules with ease, and integrate well within an established team.
Due to the travel requirements of the role candidates must hold a valid British or EU passport and be comfortable with regular travel. Portuguese language speakers are particularly welcome to apply
