Role: Live-In Nanny
Children: Boy (7) & Girl (4)
Schedule: 6 days per week (approximately six hours per day while the children are at school)
Base: Knightsbridge, London
Travel: Worldwide, with regular travel to the Bahamas and the USA (Florida, New York, Canada)
Salary: £65,000 net per annum (approx. £100,000 gross)
Start: Flexible / ASAP
A lovely family based in Knightsbridge is seeking a warm, experienced, and proactive nanny to join their household. The role involves regular international travel, particularly to the Bahamas and the USA, where the family spends part of the year.
The children are initially a little shy but affectionate, playful, and active once comfortable. The 7-year-old enjoys sport and competition, especially tennis, and the 4-year-old is keen on animals, crafts, and imaginative play. Both children respond well to a balance of busy, engaging days and calmer creative time.
The position is six days per week; when the children are at school the day is generally lighter and averages around six hours, with downtime once responsibilities are completed. Flexibility is important for travel periods, occasional evening babysitting, and proxy parenting when the parents are away. The family is open to occasional alternative arrangements – for example, a candidate who prefers working seven days at times may take an extended weekend or week off to balance.
This role requires someone who is highly autonomous and confident managing the children and household routines independently. The successful candidate will be comfortable overseeing schedules, making practical decisions in the children’s best interests, and problem-solving without close direction. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities, supporting schoolwork, arranging social activities such as playdates, and assisting with simple, healthy meals for the children when required. The family employs a chef for main household meals but appreciates occasional support with children’s meals and keeping their spaces tidy and organised. During travel, the nanny will help the children adapt to new environments and maintain routines.
The family values candidates with experience in childcare and education, as well as those who are adaptable, calm under pressure, and organised. Fluency in additional languages and experience with tutoring are beneficial but not essential. Above all, they are looking for a kind, trustworthy, and resourceful professional who can provide consistent, high-quality childcare and represent the family well while they are away.
Accommodation during working periods is provided in a private guest apartment adjacent to the main house, including a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.
This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality childcare within an international lifestyle, joining a relaxed yet dynamic family in a long-term role.
