Role: Stable Manager/Groom
Days: Monday – Friday (with some weekend and rota cover as part of shared responsibility)
Hours: 8.00am – 6.00pm (with 1 hour for lunch)
Location: Private Estate, Surrey
Contract: Full-time, live-out
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE

We are looking for an experienced and fully qualified Stable Manager/Groom to join a private estate in Surrey. This is a long-term opportunity for a confident, capable and professional person who takes pride in delivering exceptional standards of animal care, yard management and presentation.
This role combines hands-on management of 5/6 horses/ponies with the broader care of supporting the daily welfare/vet checks of two donkeys, some goats and chickens. You will work closely with the Estate Management team and wider staff and will need to be flexible with working hours when the Principal is in residence.
You will take full responsibility for the professional management of the stables, ensuring impeccable standards of turnout, yard organisation and animal handling at all times including riding and turning out. This will involve schooling horses, providing some lessons to family and friends, and attending shows with a calm and organised approach with the Principals. You must be confident driving a 3.5-ton horse lorry.
You will also be required to support the Estate Management team with the upkeep of paddocks, fencing and animal areas, manage feed and supply orders, assist with deliveries, and help maintain clean and welcoming communal areas.

- Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round

- Is flexible and adaptable with working patterns when required
