VEGETARIAN CHEF (LIVE-IN or LIVE-OUT), GLOBAL CUISINES, VIP FAMILY, ST JAMES’, LONDON, £50,000

Hours: 12:00-22:00 (if Live-out)

Salary: £45,000-£50,000

A VIP Indian Family are seeking a flexible Vegetarian Chef, to join an existing team at their fully-staffed private household in St James’, London

Working as part of a brigade of four Chefs, (three of who primarily cook Indian cuisine) – your focus will be to cook non-Indian dishes, so you should have a wide-ranging knowledge of global food, including Mediterranean, Modern European and Asian cuisines

 

There are a total of 12 Principals (all of whom dine at the same time in the same place), meaning that there are usually at last 2 Chefs working on each service. When the Family occasionally entertain, all hands are required for larger dinners of up to 30 Guests

 

On a daily basis, the Chef will communicate directly with the Family members to suggest menus and confirm timings, so a good level of written and spoken English is required

 

All food must be vegetarian, and although certain dairy produce is permissible, no eggs are used in cooking

 

This role can be Live out or Live in; if Live-out the requirement will be based on a 12:00-22:00 schedule. If Live-in, a breakfast/lunch shift will be followed by a 4 hour break in the afternoon, ready for dinner service. For Live-in candidates, accommodation is provided within the staff quarters which comprises a shared room with a male

 

This role is open to candidates who do not have previous Private Household experience; however candidates must have excellent experience within top restaurants, be great team players and flexible. Candidates must display longevity in recent roles, and have great references

 

There is no driving or shopping required for this role. Some light service experience would be beneficial.

  • Have 5+ years experience working as a Chef within top-end restaurants and venues, and preferably with private household experience
