We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Estate Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a substantial private country estate in Wiltshire.

This is a varied, hands-on management position requiring an individual who can take ownership of the estate’s operational requirements while ensuring consistently high standards across the property, grounds, buildings and wider estate

Working closely with the Principals and their representatives, the Estate Manager will coordinate estate staff, contractors and external suppliers, ensuring the smooth running, maintenance and presentation of all areas. Responsibilities will include property and grounds oversight, planned and reactive maintenance, contractor management, budgets and purchasing, compliance, security, utilities, vehicles and estate infrastructure

The Estate Manager will oversee and support the wider estate team, managing rotas, workloads and standards while maintaining excellent communication between household, grounds and external teams. They will also coordinate larger maintenance and improvement projects, obtaining quotations, managing contractors and monitoring works through to completion

The position requires someone comfortable operating within a busy, evolving country estate, where priorities can change quickly. The successful candidate will be practical and solutions-focused, equally comfortable managing strategically and getting involved operationally when required.

Previous experience managing a significant private estate, country house or comparable rural property is essential. Knowledge of listed or period properties, land and grounds management, estate maintenance, health & safety and compliance would be particularly advantageous.

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, hold a full driving licence and be able to provide excellent contactable references. A current DBS check, or willingness to obtain one, will also be required.
