Poppy Lane Placements is seeking a warm, dependable and experienced Domestic Couple to care for a private family residence in Oslo.
Location: Oslo, Norway
Salary: €100,000–€120,000 gross per annum, combined for both employees
Accommodation: Separate three-bedroom cottage with private entrance and utilities covered
Start date: Flexible
Holiday: Five weeks’ annual leave
Working Arrangements: Working hours and days off will be agreed in advance, with flexibility during family visits. Overtime and rest periods will follow applicable Norwegian employment rules
We are seeking a warm, dependable and experienced Domestic Couple to care for a private family residence in Oslo.
The household is informal, with predictable routines during visits and extended periods when the family is away. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day care of the property, keeping it secure, well maintained and ready for the family’s arrival. Working closely with the wider property management team, you will also coordinate preparations and support at a nearby summer residence.
Personality and approach are central to this appointment. The family values positive, discreet people who take pride in their work, welcome direction and work well together. Workload increases during family visits, particularly in summer, with quieter periods outside residency.
· Deliver professional housekeeping, laundry and preparation of guest accommodation.
· Prepare simple family meals and keep kitchen and household provisions organised.
· Provide local Chauffeuring, errands, appointments and airport collections.
· Maintain vehicles and coordinate servicing and seasonal tyre changes.
· Undertake light DIY and minor repairs, arranging specialist assistance when required.
· Supervise gardening and maintenance contractors, monitoring work and reporting issues promptly.
· Maintain an on-site presence and liaise with the security provider when away.
· Coordinate seasonal opening, provisioning and closing of the summer residence, overseeing local support.
· Follow household procedures and communicate clearly with the wider property management team.
· Relevant private household experience, with complementary practical skills.
· Excellent housekeeping standards, basic cooking ability and confidence with light maintenance.
· Driving licences and confidence driving larger vehicles.
· Absolute discretion, reliability and a calm, positive approach.
· Strong communication, initiative and willingness to follow established routines.
· Comfortable living in Norway year-round and working flexibly during family visits.
· Both applicants must have the legal right to live and work in Norway/EU.
