We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Live-in Domestic Couple for a beautifully renovated country manor in Oxfordshire
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong House Manager partnered with an experienced Housekeeper/Cook, who together can take real ownership of a newly established family home and help shape how it operates from the outset
The property has been exceptionally considered, with a strong emphasis on design, art, nature, creativity, health and sustainability. Both candidates should therefore have excellent private household standards, strong attention to detail and a genuine appreciation for aesthetics, beautiful products and a thoughtfully run home
The family primarily use the property at weekends, with their main residence in London.
House Manager
The House Manager will take the operational lead for the property, acting as a key point of contact for the principals and working closely with the Director of People & Properties, family office and garden team.
Responsibilities will include managing the initial move-in and household setup; creating house manuals, inventories and maintenance schedules; managing budgets and expenditure; overseeing contractors, suppliers and maintenance; purchasing and procurement; coordinating household staff and rotas; and ensuring the property is always beautifully prepared for the family and guests.
You should be exceptionally organised, financially confident and tech-savvy, with the ability to establish robust household systems from scratch. This is also a hands-on position within a lean team, so flexibility and a willingness to step in wherever required are essential.
Housekeeper / Cook
The Housekeeper/Cook will take responsibility for maintaining exceptional standards throughout the home, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, organisation and the care of delicate surfaces, artworks and high-quality furnishings.
You should have a particularly strong aesthetic eye, understanding how to organise and present a beautifully designed home while sourcing appropriate, well-made household products.
Good family-style cooking is required, with an emphasis on simple fresh, healthy and high-quality food. You should also be comfortable assisting with household shopping, inventories, guest preparation and packing/unpacking when required.
