Accommodation: One-bedroom cottage
Schedule: 5 days per week | 45 hours per week

A private family is seeking an experienced, hands-on Houseman / House Manager to oversee the day-to-day
management and maintenance of a beautiful country estate near Salisbury.
This is a varied role combining practical property maintenance, estate management, light front-of-house
duties, chauffeuring, and pet care. The Principals are not in permanent residence, so the successful candidate
will take pride in ensuring the property is secure, immaculately maintained, and fully prepared for their
arrival at all times. You will work independently, managing contractors, maintaining the estate, and
supporting the family during visits with a discreet and professional approach.
Key Responsibilities
• Overall management and presentation of the estate
• Liaising with and overseeing contractors and service providers
• General handyman duties and preventative maintenance
• Working alongside gardeners and housekeepers
• Maintaining terraces, driveways and external areas
• Monitoring heating, security, CCTV and household systems
• Caring for the family’s dogs and cats
• Vehicle cleaning, maintenance and occasional chauffeuring
• Welcoming guests and providing light hospitality
• Preparing the property for family visits and entertaining
• Reporting maintenance issues and keeping storage areas organised
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar private household or estate role
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
• DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Excellent references
• Practical, proactive and highly organised with a hands-on approach
