An appreciative HNW American family with children are seeking a Private Chef for their busy Westminster home. They are looking for someone calm, organised and confident working independently, who enjoys cooking delicious, healthy family food.
The role requires a greater commitment during school term time, with the family ideally seeking Monday to Saturday cover for lunch and dinner. The higher end of the salary range is available to candidates happy to commit to a six-day working week during these periods.
This is balanced by a lighter schedule during school holidays, when the family are usually away. There is no requirement to travel with them, although occasional visits to the property may be needed to deep clean, organise and reset the kitchen.
The family enjoy fresh, homely meals with an emphasis on Mediterranean cooking. They would love to find a Chef who enjoys being around children and brings a positive, approachable manner to the household.
This role offers stability and appreciation within a well-run private home, combining a busy term-time schedule with extended quieter periods while the family travel.
DUTIES INCLUDE
• Preparing lunch and dinner daily; no early breakfast is required
• Cooking healthy, well-balanced family meals, focusing on Mediterranean-style dishes, including pasta, fish and meat
• Preparing simple, nutritious meals suitable for young children
• Cooking for a small number of household staff, using sensible leftovers where appropriate
• Catering for informal entertaining when required
• Managing grocery shopping and suppliers
• Overseeing pantry supplies, stock rotation and date checking
• Managing receipts and basic kitchen accounts
• Taking responsibility for kitchen cleaning, washing up and excellent hygiene standards
• Keeping the kitchen organised, well stocked and efficiently run
• Carrying out occasional deep cleans and kitchen resets while the family are away
REQUIREMENTS
• Have at least 3–5 years’ experience working as a Chef within a private household
• Be eligible to work in the UK
• Have a valid DBS check or be willing to obtain one
• Have excellent, contactable references
