A thoughtful andexperienced Home School Teacher is sought for a temporary position supporting a7-year-old boy based in Cascais, Portugal. This is a highly personalised role,centred around delivering a British curriculum framework in a way that feels engaging,flexible, and tailored to the child’s individual interests.

Rather thanfocusing on formal testing or exam preparation, the emphasis is on nurturingcuriosity, encouraging independent thinking, and creating a positiverelationship with learning. The successful candidate will take fullresponsibility for planning and delivering a structured yet adaptable programmethat supports both academic progress and broader development.

The day willtypically be split between more focused academic learning in the mornings and alooser, more exploratory approach in the afternoons. This may includeproject-based work, outdoor learning, or activities that encourage creativityand initiative.

You will:

• Plan and deliver a well-structured,     individualised programme in line with the British curriculum
• Adapt teaching methods to suit the     child’s pace, interests, and learning style
• Foster a calm, engaging, and     encouraging learning environment
• Balance clear structure with a warm,     child-led approach

This role wouldsuit someone who:

• Holds a recognised teaching     qualification and has strong knowledge of the British primary curriculum
• Is confident working in a one-to-one     setting and can take initiative with planning
• Brings a creative and thoughtful     approach to learning
• Is able to establish clear boundaries     while remaining warm and supportive
